ILLAN TULLEN
Death is simultaneously a natural part of life and something absurd. We don’t know when it will happen and what might follow. The risk of losing everything is present in everyone’s everyday lives – even in the happiest moments. As children we might address fear in different ways, although the same themes will remain relevant throughout our entire lives.

Illan tullen (eng. As the Evening Falls) is a charcoal stop motion animation, exploring death through three perspectives – a story from family history, childhood memories and collected thoughts of other people. Although death can be seen as a dominant part of the work, it is also about life, fear and the human mind’s way to process difficult yet natural themes.
